Here’s a Ball for Johnny

Here’s a ball for Johnny, big and soft and round
(Make a circle with thumbs and middle fingers
or with both hands together to make a bigger ball)

Here is Johnny’s hammer, oh, how he can pound!
(Hammer with one clenched fist over the other)
Here is Johnny’s music, clapping, clapping so!
(Clap hands together)
Here are Johnny’s soldiers, standing in a row!
(Hold out hands with fingers outstretched,
pointing upward with palms forward)

Here is Johnny’s trumpet, toot-too-too-too-too!
(Hold hands like a trumpet in front of mouth)
Here’s how Johnny plays peek-a-boo.
(Cover and uncover eyes with hands)
Here’s a big umbrella to keep our Johnny dry.
(Hold forefinger vertical and place horizontal palm
of other hand over it, making an umbrella, or put both
hands over head like an umbrella)

It’s time for Johnny to go to sleep, so we say bye-bye!
(Place palms together at side of head to show sleeping,
and then wave bye-bye.)
