For more information about the Assignment File, see Lesson 1.

A suffix is a word ending that changes the use of the word. There are many suffixes that will be presented this year. This week, you will learn the rule for adding a suffix to a word that ends with a final silent e.

If the suffix begins with a vowel, drop the silent e and add the suffix, such as in require and requiring.

If the suffix begins with a consonant, keep the silent e, such as in require and requires.
