Health & Physical Education

Integrated Health and Fitness One Semester
This course develops a foundation in anatomy and physiology. It emphasizes critical thinking skills necessary for discernment regarding to the various, and often conflicting, information presented in the media. The course incorporates cutting edge research in health science and includes a fitness component that fulfills the Oak Meadow physical education requirement. This comprehensive and pioneering course includes chapters on nutrition, wellness, disease prevention, substance use, sexuality, aging, healing, and alternative therapies. The course projects and activities are personal, creative, and meaningful to the high school student.

Physical Education
Oak Meadow students can meet their Physical Education requirements in many ways. Students may belong to a local gym, take formal lessons in martial arts, or take swimming at the YMCA. For students who are not taking formal lessons or who may not belong to a gym, their PE requirements can still be met by keeping a log of the physical activities they are involved in. Please use your PE form for all Physical Education activities.
