TEACHERS: Mary Anne Hecht, M.B.A - Biography

Mary Anne Hecht is from Woodstock, Illinois and earned her B.A. in Spanish at the University of Wisconsin in Madison. She received her M.B.A. at American Intercontinental University. In addition, she plans to complete her M.A. in Human Resource Development, specializing in cultural training and facilitation. She lives in New York City with her two cats, Cedie and Juliet.

Mary Anne Hecht has developed strong skills in three major areas throughout her working career: relationship building, customer service/coordination and new business development. Her working career has included teaching, training, sales and marketing, and corporate finance. She brings with her a myriad of skills, inherent personal traits and an indefatigable work ethic, driven by self-motivation, persistence and genuine concern and love for people.

She spent her first year after college graduation teaching English and American culture in Cuernavaca, Mexico. She has taught English for five years in Chicago, Illinois and for four years overseas. She speaks Spanish and French fluently and has used her languages continuously throughout her career and personal life. She loves to travel and has been to many wonderful countries.

As a trainer, teacher and marketer, Ms. Hecht is familiar with the importance of cultural sensitivity in business. She has interacted with people from all over the world in her prior work experiences and considers herself a highly effective communicator with diverse audiences.

Throughout her educational and working career, Ms. Hecht has always kept a foot in the teaching door. Teaching is truly where she belongs and thrives. She truly enjoys the exchange flow between instructor and student. Teaching is a productive, rewarding, and challenging profession. She looks very forward to working with her Oak Meadow colleagues, the students and parents throughout this 2005-2006 school year.
