About Our Digital Curriculum

About Our Digital Homeschool Curriculum

Digital ebook subscriptions to our print homeschool curriculum are available in our online shop. Oak Meadow believes students learn best from print materials, but we also know our families are constantly on-the-go. Digital ebook subscriptions are great for families who travel, live remotely, or for whom high shipping costs and long delivery times discourage the purchase of print materials, such as our many road-schooling, boat-schooling, and world-schooling families or those living abroad.

What devices can I use to access the digital ebook curriculum?

The digital homeschool curriculum is for use on an electronic device such as a computer, laptop, tablet, or phone. We use the free KITABOO® READER eBook application available for download on a wide range of devices and operating systems. Learn more about Kitaboo here. The Kitaboo app can be installed on two devices per account.

Will I get instant access to the books? We’re anxious to get started!

We’re anxious for you to get started, too! It does take about 2-4 business days for us to get log-in information to you. You’ll receive the info via email as soon as possible!

How long do I have access to the digital homeschool curriculum subscription?

Your subscription to the digital curriculum lasts for 4 years from the date of purchase.

Can my student and I (the parent or teacher) be logged in to the digital ebooks at the same time?

Kitaboo only allows one user to be logged into the account at one time.

Can I give my friend access with my log-in?

No. You are buying a one-user subscription for the digital book.

Can I print the digital curriculum myself?

The digital curriculum is designed to be used by one user and is also offered at a lower price from the print books. There are restrictions in place that will prevent sharing and printing so we can continue to offer this great resource at a great price.

One exception to this is for our digital math workbooks. Since these books contain a large number of math worksheets and equations, we have made them printable for your convenience.

Do I need internet access for the digital curriculum?

The digital curriculum is accessed through the Kitaboo ebook app and needs internet access approximately every 2 weeks to verify log-in. Otherwise the curriculum can be used in offline mode when logged in.

Looks like we need some novels or other accompanying literature/materials for the course…are those available digitally, too?

Accompanying literature and materials (such as novels used in English courses) are available in print form only in the Oak Meadow Shop as well as other bookstores/libraries/etc. If you need digital copies, check your library’s digital catalog, Amazon, or this resource of 59,000 free public domain classics available as e-books.

Will I be able to interact with the digital text at all?

The digital curriculum is not interactive per se, but you’ll be able to highlight, add notes, and add bookmarks within the Kitaboo ebook app.

I only need one subject for a 4-8 grade, can I buy the subjects as separate digital curriculum books?

Probably! The digital is the same as the print books: if there is a print version available by subject you can buy it digitally. For example, you can buy the Grade 4 math book since that is separate print book in grade 4. But we do not offer grade 4 English only since there is no print book like that.

We are enrolling but plan to travel a lot. Should we get the digital curriculum, too?

Luckily, there’s no need for you to subscribe to access separately. Students who enroll receive both print and digital editions as part of their tuition.

Will the digital curriculum get updated automatically when a print publication is updated?

Unfortunately, that isn’t something we can automatically update right now. However, for the future, our vendor is working on a way to make updates to the digital ebooks without causing issues with a user’s notes, bookmarks, etc.

What if the digital curriculum just isn’t working for me?

There is a 14-day evaluation period for digital readers and a 30-day evaluation period for digital coursebooks. To cancel your digital subscription within these 14 days, you’ll need to obtain a Return Merchandise Authorization number (RMA) by filling out our RMA form.
