For those of you who live close to Grafton, Vermont or will be in the area on September 27th-28th, there is a planned Fairy House Tour at the Nature Museum. The Oak Meadow staff and friends will be gathering at the Cotton Mill (the current location of the Oak Meadow office) on Tuesday, September 23rd from 2-5 pm to build their own fairy creation as one of the displays for this event, and you are all invited to help with the creation!
Our Oak Meadow fairy house will be created around the theme of Head, Heart, and Hands. Fairy house books, sample fairy houses, and some building materials will be provided. Please bring glue guns and your own natural materials to contribute, such as dried flowers, wood, corn husks, shells, rocks, and any other natural materials that will add splendor to the fairy house.
If you are unable to join in the activities, but would like to contribute a fairy creation as part of the Oak Meadow display, please drop it off at the Cotton Mill before 3 pm on Thursday, September 25th. They can be returned to you after the event, or they can be left for the fairies to enjoy. (Please note that in the past rain has taken its toll on fairy houses over the course of the weekend. Also, avoid using edibles like seeds and acorns, for fairy houses have been nibbled on by curious woodland creatures.)
I do hope some of you can join the Oak Meadow fairy house building team or visit the Nature Museum for viewing the lovely displays of this annual event!
