Interactive Map of Oak Meadow Families

You’re not alone in your learning journey!

As you can see from this map, we have so many families using our curriculum as enrolled (blue pins) and independent users (green pins). We know that homeschool can sometimes feel isolating, and we’re here to support you and help facilitate connections to your local Oak Meadow Community whenever possible.

We vigorously protect the privacy of our enrolled families and independent homeschoolers.  That’s why you won’t find a way to get names or contact information for the ‘dots’ on this map.  Remember, also, that while your “dot” may be for an 11th grader, the one closest to you may be for a Kindergarten student!

How to Connect to Other Homeschooling Families

Enrolled

  • Using your Oak Meadow email, send a note to any email group you might belong to (e.g. OM Awesome for high schoolers, K-6 parents, etc.).  Introduce yourself and explain what you’re looking for (e.g., “Hi, my name is Stefan and I am the parent of a 4th grader in the Denver area. We’re going to the Denver Zoo on May 1st, and we’d love for other Oak Meadow families to join us!”).

  • Attend any of the Oak Meadow activities (see the “Gateway —> News & Events” tab) and ask if any participants are close by. You may also find a penpal!

  • Try some of the suggestions for our Independent Users, such as creating or joining a Facebook Group, putting up flyers in your local library, or networking in afterschool groups!

Independent

  • Post a message to any social media groups (Facebook, Instagram, etc.) seeking students/families interested in connecting in your area.  You could even form your own group, if there’s interest.
  • Use the web to search for local homeschooling groups and activities; attend or reach out to learn more.
  • If you see other dots in your area, try putting a flier up at your local library or community center that mentions Oak Meadow and provides a way to contact you!
  • Speak with coaches, tutors, mentors, music teachers, etc. in your area to learn if they know any other homeschooling families
  • Participate in public events and workshops that other homeschooling families might be interested in
  • Network through friends, local libraries, schools, after school groups, etc.
  • And of course, check out Oak Meadow’s Finding Community as a Homeschooler webpage.
