Applying to college can be a daunting prospect, and without some structure and support, it’s easy to get overwhelmed. We’re here to help!
Open to all students and families and designed with enrolled and homeschooled students in mind, Oak Meadow’s Navigating College Admissions series is designed to break down the college application process into manageable steps.

Do you have a younger student? We offer a planning session just for you!
Advance Planning for College: Learn about how to position yourself well ahead of applying to college. Get a broad overview of the college search/application process (for families and students of any age, Oak Meadow-enrolled or homeschooled) and learn about what you need to start doing when your student reaches high school.
We run this session multiple times. In this cycle we’re hosting a session on Tuesday, August 26th 2025 at 7pm EST, Monday, November 10th 2025 at 12pm EST, and Wednesday, January 7th 2026 at 7pm EST. Register using this link.

Personalizing Your Process

How do I really get to know a college, and get a sense of how I would feel and fit there? How can I connect with them, even before applying? (Tip: this can enhance your chances of being admitted and often also getting additional scholarships.)
Completing Your Application

Review the components of an application (transcripts, supplements, recommendations, activities, etc.), understand how Common Application works, and learn about helpful resources.
Especially for Homeschoolers

Some parts of the application process are different if you apply independently, without an accredited diploma. We’ll be joined by a parent, Sharon Levering, who recently (and successfully!) went through the process with her daughter. While we address homeschool applications throughout the series, we’ll delve more deeply in this session.
Writing Your Essay
