YOU are amazing, 365 days a year. Homeschool is a way of life. It’s freedom. We want to see what homeschool allows YOU to do, 365 days of the year. Take a two-month “summer break” in winter to capitalize on ski season? Bake bread every weekend? Are you a concert musician, dancer, or athlete, and homeschool allows you to continue these amazing pursuits every day of the year? Are science experiments your thing? Maybe you ride horses or help save sea turtles or participate in youth leadership and government activities. Maybe you live on a boat, or in Bali, or homeschooling allowed you to go on an Antarctic expedition.
For this year’s photo contest, show us what it looks like when you are living and learning 365 days a year! Send us photos of your homeschooler doing things that show us what homeschool allows them to do, any day of the year. We love photos with parents, grandparents, siblings, cousins, friends of all ages, neighbors, teachers, mentors, and other important and helpful people. We also love pictures of you with pets, bugs, flowers, science experiments—show us you in your element, whatever that may be.
ENTERING: Submission deadline is March 14
Prizes will be awarded in three categories: K-4, 5-8, and High School. One winner from each category will have the choice of $150 Oak Meadow bookstore credit OR a $100 VISA gift card (VISA only available to US winners).
Submit photos by attaching them full-size (do not resize, and do not “insert” photo into the body of the message) to an email and sending them to firstname.lastname@example.org. There is no limit to the number of photos you may submit, but we ask you only send us high-quality photos you would love to see on our website or in a printed catalog!
Submitting a photo serves as your agreement to the following: You give Oak Meadow full permission to use submitted photos in our publications, on our website, sharing them through social media including Facebook and Instagram, and any other applicable display or use with no compensation or attribution (unless we have room–then we’d love to give you credit!) to promote Oak Meadow and it’s services and products. You must have permission from all of the people in a photo (or parents if they are under age 18) before submitting that photo to us. We may reach out to you to confirm this.
People often tell us how much they appreciate seeing photos of real-life homeschoolers. Even if you don’t win, anyone who enters might see their photo in Oak Meadow publications (online or in print)!
Your submission must include the following:
- Your contact information, including a name to credit the photo to (such as “The Brown Family” or “Betsy Brown”)
- Where you are located (city/state/country)
- Which category your photo(s) should be entered in (K-4, 5-8 or HS)
- A brief explanation and/or caption for each photo. Who is in the photo? What is being done/learned?
Don’t forget to attach your photo(s) to your email!
